Neighborhood Watch Programs

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Kentucky Department of Homeland Security and the National Sheriff’s Association (NSA) in developing neighborhood watch programs in our community.

How to start a Neighborhood Watch

  • Meet with your neighbors
    • Share concerns about crime.
  • Inform the Christian County Sheriff’s Office

    • Call (270)887-4141 and let them know you plan to form a Watch Group. They can provide crime prevention information, training, Neighborhood Watch signs, and decals for public display. You can also email Public Affairs Officer, Chris M. Miller: cmiller@christiancountyso.com.
  • Make a Plan
    • Define your territory
    • Set up an initial community meeting and invite residents in your area to join you to discuss how to get your Watch Program started.
    • Set priorities
    • Elect officers. Divide up tasks to avoid 1 or 2 people doing all the work and consider giving your group a name.
    • Contact the Christian County Sheriff’s Office to inquire about free training provided by CCSO certified neighborhood watch trainers.

Public Information Officer Chris Miller

Public Information Officer Chris M. Miller has been certified by the NSA to educate the public on forming active NW programs and how they will benefit their areas.  Several communities have already set up effective NW programs to include the towns of Kelly, Crofton, Lacy, and Pembroke. Our goal is to have an active, working NW program in each of our communities in Christian County, to help ensure the safety of all of our Christian County families.
