One of the responsibilities that fall on Sheriff’s Offices across the Commonwealth of Kentucky is civil service. Currently there are eight different types of civil service we provide:
- Writ of Forcible Detainer
- An order to evict person and/ or property
- Order of Arrest
- An order to take a person into custody to answer a civil demand
- Writ of Possession
- An order commanding the Sheriff to recover possessions of specific personal property
- E.P.O. (Emergency Protective Order)
- A court order preventing any further acts of domestic violence
- Civil Summons
- A document to notify a defendant of a civil action or proceeding
- Subpoena
- A written command requesting a party to appear at a certain time in a certain manner
- Order of Garnishment
- An order to a third party to turn over money to the party it is owed
- Writ of execution
- A court order to collect a judgement or seize non-exempt property
