Hopkinsville Man Attempts to Flee From Deputies in Afternoon Pursuit

Deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle yesterday for speeding and were led on a chase after the vehicle failed to stop.

According to an arrest report from Deputy Scott Noisworthy, 53-year-old Jeffrey Michael Bartholomew was speeding on his motorcycle in the area of Eagle Way Bypass yesterday afternoon. Deputy Noisworthy states he attempted to stop the vehicle for the speeding infraction, at which time the driver began to flee, turning onto Madisonville Rd towards Crofton at speeds up to 104 miles per hour.

After a brief chase the vehicle finally stopped in the 10000 block of Madisonville. Rd. Bartholomew was taken into custody and charged with the following:

  • Speeding 26MPH or Greater
  • Reckless Driving
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree

Bartholomew was transported to the Christian County jail.
