After getting a tip about illegal drugs in the area of a church in Crofton, Deputies arrested a man for illegal drug possession.
36-year-old James Duke of Crofton was arrested on Sunday, December 22nd, after he was stopped in a vehicle in the parking lot of St. Petersburg Church off of Mannington Loop in Crofton, KY.
According to the arrest citation from Sgt. Brandon Myers, the Sheriff’s Office had previously received a tip of possible drug activity in that area. After the occupants were removed from the vehicle, Sgt. Myers deployed his K9 to see if there were any indications of illegal drugs in the vehicle. K9 “Hamer” gave a positive indication on the vehicle, and Deputies located 2 small baggies of suspected methamphetamine, a glass pipe and multiple needles in a backpack behind Duke’s seat.
Duke was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Duke was transported to the Christian County Jail.
