July 18th, 2019: Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office pursued and caught a Hopkinsville woman last night (7/17) after they attempted to stop her for traffic infractions.
50-year-old Lori Ann Kelly was observed by officers driving erratically on Cadiz Rd and eventually on Eagle Way By-Pass. When deputies attempted to stop Kelly, she attempted to flee. Deputies and Officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department pursued Kelly around Eagle Way By-Pass, where Kelly’s vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. Kelly’s vehicle was eventually intercepted by Deputies, causing the vehicle to run off the road around the area of the By-Pass and Bradshaw Rd. Kelly continued to resist after her vehicle was incapacitated but was successfully taken into custody, at which time, deputies also discovered a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine in Kelly’s purse. Kelly had an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear on an unrelated case.
Kelly was transported to the Christian County Jail, where she was charged with the following:
- Careless Driving
- Improper Lane Usage
- Failure to Signal
- Speeding
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st
- Fleeing/ Evading 1st Degree
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
- Assault 3rd Degree
- Failure to Wear Seatbelts
- No Insurance
- No Registration Receipt
- Driving Too Fast For Conditions
- Criminal Mischief 1st degree
- Resisting Arrest
Kelly remains in the Christian County Jail at time of this release.
