July 8th, 2019: Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence to remove an unwanted guest early this morning (07/08) and found a wanted felon and illegal narcotics.
Deputies were called to the 10000 block of Hart Rd. at around 1:00 am to remove someone from a residence. While responding, authorities learned that the subject they were asked to remove had a Probation Violation warrant out of Christian County. When they arrived, they made contact with 45-year-old Robert Preston of Hopkinsville. Preston saw Deputies and began to flee. A brief foot chase ensued and Deputies deployed a Taser to attempt to subdue Preston. Preston continued to fight and was taken into custody on a couch in the residence. After searching the immediate area where Preston was apprehended, Deputies found a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine, which tested positive later in a field test.
Preston was charged with the Probation Violation warrant and also:
- Fleeing or Evading 2nd Degree
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree
