The Christian County Sheriff’s Office, along with the agencies listed, are conducting a death investigation stemming from a vehicle fire earlier today (11.19).
Units were called to a vehicle fire in a field around the 3000 block of Rosetown Rd, just outside of Pembroke, Ky. Pembroke volunteer fire department was the first agency on the scene and advised there may possible human remains in the vehicle. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded along with the Coroners office and determined that, in fact, there were human remains in the vehicle which were severely damaged by the fire, along with the car. So far, the information off the vehicle, described as a 4 door mid size sedan, indicates it may be from Christian County. Identification of the remains has not been made at time of this release.
Witnesses say they heard a noise coming from the area around 2:00 am earlier this morning, and the landowner discovered the vehicle at around 8:30 this morning.
Agencies involved are investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire. The vehicle will be removed from the scene so it can be processed.
