Felon Arrested, Firearm Seized Following Traffic Stop

Christian County, KY-On April 27, 2025, a Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard after observing a truck with an improperly displayed and expired registration plate. During the stop, the driver, identified as 32-year-old Zachary Vanorder of Albion, MI, appeared visibly nervous. A handgun magazine was observed in plain view inside the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Vanorder was a convicted felon with an active extraditable felony warrant from Calhoun County, Michigan, and a local warrant in Christian County for FTA on traffic charges. A firearm — a Glock .43 9mm — was recovered from the vehicle.

Vanorder was arrested without incident and transported to the Christian County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Improper Display of Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, and Failure to Maintain Insurance (2nd Offense).
