February 28th, 2025-Christian County, KY – Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local bank in Pembroke on Friday afternoon, after receiving a report of a suspected fraudulent transaction.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that 63-year-old Fred Keith, Jr. attempted to cash a forged check with the intent to defraud. Thanks to the quick actions of bank staff, law enforcement was immediately notified, and the suspect was apprehended at the scene without incident.
Keith has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree, Forgery 1st Degree, and Theft by Deception.
