North Carolina Man Arrested at Motel for Cocaine Possession

Saturday, January 18, 2025-Oak Grove, KY: At approximately 8:28 PM, Deputies conducted an investigation at the Days Inn in Oak Grove regarding a wanted person.

The investigation led to room #114, where Deputies encountered 32-year-old John Scott of North Carolina and another male. Upon detecting the odor of burnt marijuana, Deputies detained both individuals pending further investigation. A search of the room revealed a clear Zip-loc style baggie containing a white powdery substance, identified as cocaine. Additional items seized included a rolled-up dollar bill with apparent drug residue, a working scale containing drug residue, and a brown container with a white residue.

John Scott claimed ownership of the cocaine and admitted to storing it in the brown container. He was read his Miranda Rights and subsequently admitted that the substance was indeed cocaine. As a result of the investigation, John Scott was arrested and charged with:

1. Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Cocaine)
2. Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess

Scott was transported to the Christian County Jail.
