Christian County, KY – July 31, 2024 – On July 31, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Hopkinsville/Christian County dispatch that Tennessee law enforcement officials were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle, from the Nashville and Clarksville area, heading westbound on Interstate 24 into Kentucky. Tennessee authorities further advised that the suspect, who was driving the stolen vehicle, might be in possession of a firearm.
The suspect crossed the state line into Christian County, at which point Tennessee authorities terminated their pursuit. However, a helicopter from the Nashville Metro Police Department continued to track the vehicle and relay its location to Kentucky authorities. The vehicle exited I-24 at Exit 89 and proceeded towards the Pembroke, KY area.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office along with the Pembroke Police Chief, located the vehicle on Highway 115 heading towards Pembroke. Upon spotting law enforcement, the vehicle turned around and headed south. Officials continued the pursuit from Pembroke Road onto Pruitt Lane, heading towards Bradshaw Road. After several minutes, law enforcement successfully stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver without incident.
The driver, identified as 27-year-old Dustin Duley of Springfield, TN, was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
- Fleeing/Evading 1st Degree (vehicle)
- Receiving Stolen Property >$10,000 (Auto)
- Fugitive from Another State (based on active Tennessee warrants)
Duley had previously been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database on charges of violating a court order and aggravated assault out of Tennessee. The vehicle, a black Chevy Tahoe, was confirmed stolen from Bowling Green, KY on July 30, 2024, and was towed from today’s scene to be returned to its rightful owner.
The successful apprehension of Duley and the recovery of the stolen vehicle were the result of a collaborative effort by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the Pembroke Police Department, the Hopkinsville Police Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, The Clarksville Police Department, The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Metro Nashville Police Department. The communication and partnership among all agencies involved were crucial in ensuring Duley’s arrest.
