Juvenile Arrested for Vehicle Theft

Christian County Sheriff's OfficeSunday, February 11th, 2024-Christian County, KY: The Hopkinsville Police Department notified CCSO deputies they had stopped a vehicle driven by a 14-year-old juvenile Sunday morning just before noon that had apparently almost hit a mail truck. The vehicle turned out to be stolen from a county address.

According to a CCSO citation, Deputies advised HPD they had dealt with that particular juvenile earlier in the day on a previous call on Bennettstown Street and the vehicle they stopped may have been stolen from the 1000 block of Old Lafayette Rd. Deputies interviewed the juvenile, who admitted to stealing the truck in the Old Lafayette Rd. area.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld, was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking (Auto) and No Operators License and taken to the McCracken Juvenile Detention Facility. The stolen truck was returned to the owner.
