Hopkinsville Man Arrested on Kidnapping, Assault Charges

christian county sheriff's office kentuckyOctober 28th, 2023, Christian County, KY: Deputies responded to a report of a kidnapping and assault that took place Saturday afternoon and arrested a Hopkinsville man. 

According to a CCSO citation form Deputy Collings, deputies were called to a residence on Quisenberry Ln. When they arrived, they learned that a female had been taken from the home by force. Investigation revealed that 49-year-old Michael J. Henderson had allegedly entered the home with a crossbow and kidnapped the female victim. Further investigation indicated that the victim had also been “strangled and thrown around in the garage before being forced into a vehicle” and leaving the scene. 

Law enforcement later located Henderson at a residence on Bassett Street in Hopkinsville and he was detained. During his arrest, Henderson made repeated threats to kill deputies and their families saying, “It’s game on!”. He was transported to the Christian County Jail, where he resisted jail staff and had to be pepper sprayed and tased to get him to comply.

Henderson was charged with the following:

  • Kidnapping
  • Burglary 1st Degree
  • Strangulation 1st Degree
  • Assault 1st Degree
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
  • Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree
  • Resisting Arrest
