Deputies were patrolling Pembroke Rd. early Monday morning when a speeding vehicle led them on a pursuit.
According to a citation from Deputy Collings, 33-year-old Malik Travis-Dquan Bryant was observed travelling at a high rate of speed on Pembroke Rd. in the area of Edwards Mill Rd. Deputy’s radar indicated he was going 94 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. When Collings attempted to stop the vehicle, Bryant sped up and attempted to elude officers, reaching speeds of a 100 MPH. He was observed cutting off vehicles and making aggressive turns. Collings pursued him all the way to the parking lot of TGASK off of Frank Yost Lane, where he stopped and was taken into custody without incident. Bryant told deputies he was late for work and should have stopped but decided not to.
Bryant was arrested and charged with the following:
- Speeding >26MPH
- Reckless Driving
- Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree
- Failure to Signal
- Possessing Two Operators Licenses
- No Other State Registration Receipt
- No Registration Plates
- No Insurance
