Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Crofton residents Saturday (01/14) for drug charges.
According to a CCSO arrest citation, Deputy Sam Suiter was dispatched to Madisonville Rd. around 10:00 pm to check for a vehicle that had run off the road. While enroute to the location, Suiter was passed by a vehicle matching the description given by dispatch going in the opposite direction in Crofton. Deputy Suiter initiated a traffic stop to check on the occupants of the vehicle. Both subjects said they saw another vehicle drive off the road and stopped to see what was going on. The driver, 37-year-old Jamie Bean, stated that they turned around and left the scene.
Deputy Suiter asked the occupants if there was any contraband in the vehicle. Both stated there was not and gave consent to search the vehicle. During the search Deputy Suiter located an unmarked pill bottle in the glove compartment which contained multiple pills of suspected Suboxone and Adderall wrapped in clear plastic. Both subjects stated that they found the pill bottle on the ground where the vehicle allegedly ran off the roadway but did not know what was in the bottle. Bean along with the passenger, 51-year-old Marty Draper, were arrested from the vehicle and charged with the following:
- Unlawful Possession of a Meth Precursor
- Prescription not in Proper Container
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Opiates)
Bean and Draper were transported to the Christian County Jail.
