Detectives with the CCSO Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) made two arrests stemming from a traffic stop Monday (12/19).
According to arrest documents, the ACU stopped a vehicle on HWY 1682 east for traffic infractions at around 5:00 pm. K9 Hamer was called to the scene and indicated on the vehicle. Detectives searched the vehicle and located approximately 3 oz. of methamphetamine and an undisclosed amount of US currency. The driver, 54-year-old Teresa Hayes of Hopkinsville, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Trafficking in Meth
- Careless Driving
- Rear License not Illuminated
Based on information from the traffic stop, Detectives were able to secure a search warrant for a house in the 4000 block of Dawson Rd. A search of the residence yielded approximately 13 grams of methamphetamine, close to two pounds of marijuana, scales and packaging material and cash. 70-year-old Jerry Hayes of Hopkinsville was arrested from the residence and charged with the following:
- Trafficking in Meth
Both suspects were transported to the Christian County Jail.
