Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a home on Bryan Street in Hopkinsville Saturday morning and located illegal drugs inside the residence.
According to CCSO arrest citations, Deputy Kevin Quarles went to a home in the 300 block of Bryan Street to serve a warrant on 41-year-old Robert R. King. King was arrested inside the home and deputies found illegal narcotics on his person. Deputies also observed illegal narcotics in plain view throughout the house and obtained a search warrant for the house. A search of the home yielded more illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia to include, THC gummies and methamphetamine. Deputies also discovered several syringes, baggies and spoons laid out all over the home. A small child was present at the residence, exposed to the drugs and the paraphernalia. Deputies arrested King and a female, 25-year-old Jennifer D. Overton, who was reportedly taking care of the child for a friend.
King was charged with Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. Overton was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, Possession of Meth, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both suspects were taken to the Christian County Jail.
