Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Owensboro man for weapons and drug charges after a vehicle pursuit Tuesday afternoon.
According to a CCSO arrest citation, Deputy Clevin Robinson observed a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Major Lane and Old Major Lane in Hopkinsville Tuesday around mid day. The vehicle fled from Deputies after Deputy Robinson attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, 31-year-old Joshua Williams, led Deputies on a vehicle chase that ended in the area of Cadiz Rd. and Princeton Rd. after the suspect vehicle wrecked. Deputy Robinson states that he could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and could see suspected marijuana in plain view inside.
The driver was taken into custody and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies located suspected packaged methamphetamine, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, drug paraphernalia and prescription pills not in their proper container. In the area of the illegal contraband, Deputies also discovered packaging materials, 2 loaded handguns, a ballistic vest and an undisclosed amount of cash. It was determined that Williams was a convicted felon and had three active warrants. During the investigation, Williams attempted to bribe Deputies with cash if they would let him go.

-Disregarding a Stop Sign
-Fleeing/ Evading Police 1st Degree
-Driving on a Suspended License
-Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
-Bribery of a Public Servant
-Possession of Marijuana
-Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Meth)
-Careless Driving
-Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
-Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense
-Prescription Not in Proper Container
-Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
Williams was transported to the Christian County Jail.
