Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on Gracey Herndon Rd this morning at around 7:15 am in reference to a suspect breaking into a garage and attempting to steal a vehicle.
According to a CCSO citation from Deputy Josh Strauch, a subject was trying to steal the victim’s vehicle from his garage. When they arrived, the owner of the home had the suspect at gunpoint in the garage while the suspect was in the victim’s vehicle attempting to steal it. Strauch says the suspect, 28-year-old Nathan Wasson of Hopkinsville, was sitting in the vehicle with a mask on to conceal his identity. The ignition had been punched out and there were burglary tools found in Wasson’s possession.
Wasson was taken into custody and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Public Intoxication. Wasson was transported to the Christian County Jail.
