Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Oak Grove residents Thursday morning one of which was wanted on federal warrants from the US Marshal Service.
According to a CCSO citation, Deputy Mike Oxford spotted the subject in a white charger on HWY 115 based on a previous attempt to locate the suspect and knowledge of what he was driving. As Deputy Oxford turned on the vehicle to make a traffic stop, the driver, 29-year-old Darien Williams-Wright, sped off to elude deputies. A short time later the vehicle was discovered wrecked in a field off of Bradshaw Rd and Bradshaw-Fidelio Rd. Wright was exiting the vehicle when deputies approached and was taken into custody. According to the arrest citation there was also a small child in the vehicle and a passenger, 25-year-old Allison May, who was also taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle yielded approximately four pounds of marijuana in the trunk and Wright was arrested for the federal warrant.
Wright was charged with Fleeing or Evading, Wanton Endangerment, No seatbelt, Criminal Mischief, Trafficking in Marijuana, and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor.
May was charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension.
Both suspects were transported to the Christian County Jail after being released from the hospital with minor injuries.
