Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office pursued a fleeing vehicle Monday morning (09/05) after observing several traffic infractions and arrested 2 adults.
According to an arrest citation, Deputy Johnny Colon attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Russellville Rd. at around 10:30 am. The vehicle, driven by 25-year-old Zavian Jackson of Clarksville, TN, refused to stop and led Deputies on a chase through the city of Hopkinsville at high rates of speed. Deputies were able to force the vehicle to stop in the rear of the Max Fuel on Fort Campbell Blvd., after the driver was attempting to turn around. All of the occupants of the vehicle, which included two adults and two juveniles, exited and fled on foot, but were apprehended quickly by Officers. Deputies searched the vehicle and located suspected narcotics to include a baggie of cocaine.
Jackson was charged with the following:
- Speeding
- No Seat Belts
- Disregarding Traffic Control Device
- 2 counts of Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree (motor vehicle and on foot)
- 2 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
- Unlawful Transaction with a Minor
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Cocaine
The adult passenger, 19-year-old Nicholas Ipock of Elkton, KY, was also arrested and charged with the following:
- Fleeing or Evading Police 1st degree (on foot)
- 2 counts of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Cocaine
Ipock and Jackson were transported to the Christian County Jail.
