The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the dates for this year’s Citizens’ Sheriff Academy! Last year’s Academy was a huge success and we plan to build on that energy for this year’s class. We have 6 nights of activities for class participants.
This 12-hour program will be focused on educating the students on the day-to-day job of a Deputy Sheriff in Christian County, and having a little fun in the process. The classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, beginning September 13th and running through October 18th, 2022.
Applicants will be educated on the duties of the Sheriff’s Office, including traffic stops, equipment, law enforcement tactics, simulated court sessions, investigative techniques, and much, much more.
This 12-hour series will be limited to 24 participants and will be free to Christian County residents.
“The goal of the citizen’s academy is to engage with the people we serve and increase their knowledge about what we do, and how we do it. We believe education comes from understanding.”, says Sheriff Tyler DeArmond.
Applications will be accepted beginning immediately, and they will be first-come, first-serve. Participants must be at least 18 years of age, be a resident of Christian County, and undergo a background check. Christian County residents can obtain an application one of two ways:
