Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Woodland Heights Apartments on Greenville Rd. just before 9:30 pm Thursday night to reports of multiple people fighting and shots fired in the area.
During the investigation, which is ongoing, it was discovered the subject that was shot, 36-year-old Dellondo Ross (from South Bend , IN) had been pointing a long gun at multiple people in the parking lot of
Woodland Heights. At some point during the disturbance, Ross was shot and received a non life threatening injury and then fled the scene as deputies were arriving. Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on
Ross, but he failed to pull over and fled from officers, but was eventually stopped. He was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by ambulance where he was treated and released for his injuries.
Ross was then taken into custody and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree and Operating on a Suspended Driver’s License.
Christian County Deputies were assisted by officers from the Hopkinsville Police Department in apprehending Ross.
