March 13, 2025 – Christian County, KY – Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office successfully recovered a stolen vehicle on Thursday night following a coordinated effort with the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Earlier in the evening, the Hopkinsville Police Department reported the theft of a red Mercury from a residence on Main Street, alerting surrounding law enforcement agencies to assist in locating the vehicle. Deputies later discovered the stolen vehicle parked at the Radway Inn on Ft. Campbell Boulevard at around 10:00 PM and promptly notified the Hopkinsville Police Department.
During the investigation, deputies identified 35-year-old Michele L. Fanning in connection with the stolen vehicle. A search of her person revealed the vehicle’s keys, leading to her immediate arrest. Fanning was linked to a separate theft case involving a stolen cell phone investigated by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, during which she was observed driving the stolen vehicle, according to witnesses.
Fanning was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and was transported to the Christian County Jail.
