Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest and Federal Warrant Apprehension

February 13th, 2025-Christian County, KY: Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in North Christian on Thursday night, resulting in drug-related charges for the driver and the arrest of another individual on a federal probation violation.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Madisonville Road and Pleasant Grove Road for an equipment violation. The driver, 47-year-old Casey Fain of Dawson Springs, KY, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and hydrocodone. Fain was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container.

The vehicle’s owner, 38-year-old Christopher Cotton of Hopkinsville, was contacted to retrieve the vehicle. Upon his arrival, a records check revealed an active federal warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals Service for a probation violation. Cotton was taken into custody without incident.

Both individuals were transported to the Christian County Jail.
