At approximately 8:45 PM, a deputy on patrol observed a Mazda displaying a Tennessee dealer tag that had been flagged in previous investigations for suspected drug trafficking activity. A DMV check confirmed the tag was not on file. Shortly after, the deputy witnessed the vehicle fail to maintain its lane and strike a center median near the intersection of Madisonville Road and Pleasant View Road, prompting a traffic stop.

The driver, later identified as Adams, failed to yield, continuing at approximately 50 MPH despite emergency lights and sirens. During the pursuit, Adams was observed throwing a white substance and a plastic baggie from the vehicle. After multiple warnings, he came to a stop near the 10100 block of Madisonville Road, where deputies conducted a felony stop and took him into custody without further incident.

A subsequent search of the area led deputies to recover a clear baggie and a large rock of an off-white crystalline substance, which was identified as crystal methamphetamine. Additionally, a VIN check revealed that the vehicle had the wrong tag, and Adams was unable to provide proof of insurance.

Adams was transported to the Christian County Jail and charged with the following offenses:

  • Careless Driving
  • Improper Registration Plate
  • Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (Motor Vehicle)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd or > (<2 grams Methamphetamine)
