Traffic Stop Leads to Methamphetamine Arrest at Kentucky Welcome Center

Thursday, December 12, 2024-Christian County, KY:  At approximately 6:17 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the Kentucky Welcome Center, located on Interstate 24. The vehicle, a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with Alabama license plate, was stopped for improper display of registration plates. During the encounter, the driver, 35-year-old Kevin Hennessey Jr., admitted to having medication that didn’t belong to him in the vehicle. Further conversation revealed that Hennessey Jr. also had a methamphetamine pipe and methamphetamine in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a bulbous pipe identified as being used for smoking methamphetamine and crystal methamphetamine.

Hennessey Jr. was charged with:

– Improper Display of Registration Plates

– Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)

– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Hennessey was transported to the Christian County Jail.
