Friday, November 22nd, 2024, Hopkinsville, KY:
On Friday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 7:30 PM, deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office conducted a warrant service at a residence in the 1300 block of Main Street, Hopkinsville. Deputies observed a subject exiting a vehicle who was identified as 24-year-old Michael K. Epperson, who had an active warrant for Failure to Appear.
Upon making contact with Mr. Epperson, deputies detected the odor of marijuana emanating from his person. A subsequent search revealed a handgun in his waistband and a clear baggie containing orange pills. Mr. Epperson was read his rights and disclosed that he was in possession of fentanyl. Further search of his person uncovered a green pill bottle containing suspected cocaine and fentanyl pills, as well as an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
Following the search, Mr. Epperson consented to a search of his residence. Deputies discovered additional quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, gabapentin pills, marijuana, and a stolen .22 caliber handgun reported stolen from Hopkinsville.
Mr. Epperson is facing the following charges:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Cocaine)
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Drug Unspecified)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Drug Unspecified)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm)
- Christian County Warrant for Failure to Appear
During the interaction, deputies made contact with 22-year-old D’avion Hillsbury of Earlington, KY. Mr. Hillsbury, who was present in the vehicle, exhibited an odor of marijuana. He admitted to driving the vehicle shared with Mr. Epperson and consented to a search of the vehicle. Deputies found an Altoid can containing suspected methamphetamine and a straw in the driver’s side door pocket. Although Mr. Hillsbury denied ownership of the items, he accurately described the contents of the can without seeing them.
Mr. Hillsbury is facing the following charges:
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both suspects were transported to the Christian County Jail.
