Tuesday, November 5th, 2024-Christian County, KY: On November 5th, 2024, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle collision at Dollar General, located at 4845 Madisonville Road. Upon arrival, deputies met with the driver, 18-year-old Jaden Smith, who initially reported a stranger forced him to inspect a bag. However, investigation revealed Smith knew the juvenile passenger and had arranged to exchange $1,160 for 83 THC vaping pens.
During the transaction, Smith attempted to flee with the money and drugs, causing the passenger to hang onto the vehicle. Smith threatened to use a stolen handgun, prompting the passenger to release their grip. Smith’s vehicle subsequently struck a ditch. Following the crash, Smith concealed a bag containing the vape pens and money, which was later recovered by a K9 unit in a nearby grassy area.
