CCSO, First Responder Agencies Respond to Threat

October 28, 2024 – Christian County, KY: Earlier today, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to a potential threat at South Christian Elementary School, involving an alleged Emergency Protective Order (EPO) violation.
Upon arrival, deputies swiftly secured the school perimeter and interior, ensuring student safety. A multi-agency response ensued, incorporating the Hopkinsville Police Department, Hopkinsville Fire Department and Christian County Emergency Management.
A comprehensive search of the school grounds and surrounding areas yielded no credible threat or suspicious individuals.
CCSO deputies and detectives continue to investigate the circumstances behind the alleged EPO violation.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office commends the seamless cooperation between first responder agencies and the Christian County Public School System, prioritizing student safety.
The Christian County Public School System has provided the following dismissal procedures:
