Stolen Vehicle Recovery and Arrest

October 10, 2024-Hopkinsville, KY: At approximately 9:30 p.m., Christian County Sheriff’s Office units received an alert regarding a stolen Tennessee license plate in the area of Pembroke Rd. and Highway 115. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored four-door sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima or Sentra.

Shamarkius Oldham

Deputies located the vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Altima, unoccupied in the Martinrea Hopkinsville LLC parking lot (1500 Frank Yost Lane). The vehicle’s vehicle identification number check revealed it was reported stolen out of McCracken County, Kentucky.

Further investigation led to the identification of 25-year-old Shamarkius Oldham out of Clarksville, TN, a temporary worker at Martinrea, as the suspect. Oldham attempted to flee out of a side entrance to the building but was detained by deputies. He initially provided false information but later admitted his identity.

During the arrest, deputies found:

– Nissan key fob matching the stolen vehicle

– Two active warrants for Oldham’s arrest

Oldham confessed to driving the stolen vehicle for approximately a week, including to work that day.

Oldham is facing charges of Receiving Stolen Property ($1,000 – $10,000) and Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate.
