Woman Arrested for Providing False Information and Narcotics Possession

October 3rd, 2024, Hopkinsville, Ky: On October 3, 2024, at approximately 11:35 p.m., deputies conducted an extra patrol at Woodland Heights Apartments, 2850 Greenville Road.

Shawanna Brodie

A vehicle with an obstructed license plate was observed, and contact was made with the occupants. During interaction, deputies detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Occupants were detained, and 39-year-old Shawanna Brodie of Hopkinsville provided false identifying information, claiming her name was Danielle Brodie. A probable cause search of Brodie’s purse revealed: – Her actual ID, contradicting her initial statement – Cut straw with white powdery residue – Small baggie containing powder cocaine.

Brodie admitted to possessing cocaine after being read her Miranda Rights. Brodie was charged with: 1. Giving Officer False Identifying Information 2. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Cocaine) 3. Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess. Brodie was arrested and transported to the Christian County Jail.
