Man Arrested for EPO/DVO Violation, Firearms, and Narcotics Offenses

Monday, September 30th, 2024, Christian County, KY: Christian County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Pembroke-Oak Grove Road Monday afternoon, regarding an EPO/DVO violation.

Upon arrival, deputies observed Nathan Pickens, 40, exiting a blue F-150 near the property. Dispatch confirmed Pickens as a respondent on an active EPO, requiring him to maintain 500 feet distance from the property, and considered armed and dangerous with an order to surrender firearms. Pickens was found in violation, being within the restricted area. During arrest and search, a cut straw with white powdery residue and Suboxone strips were found on his person. A related search of his vehicle yielded a firearm with scratched-off serial number plate and 9mm hollow point ammunition between vehicle seats. Deputies also found suspected methamphetamine, scales, plastic baggies, prescription pills in an unlabeled container and open containers of alcohol.

Pickens faces charges: 1. Violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO 2. Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess 3. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Unspecified) 4. Possession of Defaced Firearm 5. Using Restricted Ammunition During Felony (No Shots) 6. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (>= 2g Methamphetamine) 7. Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, 1st Offense 8. Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle (Prohibited)

Pickens was transported to the Christian County Jail.
