Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrests

August 29, 2024-Christian County, KY: Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a non-illuminated license plate on North Drive in Hopkinsville late Thursday night.

Christian County Sheriff's OfficeThe driver, Rashad Coker (43), was found to be operating on a suspended driver’s license. Further investigation revealed a small bag of methamphetamine in Coker’s pocket and a handgun between the driver’s seat and center console. Both Coker and passenger Jonathan Bivins (41) are convicted felons.

Coker was charged with: – Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – Rear license not illuminated – Drug paraphernalia possession – Operating on suspended or revoked license – Possession of handgun by convicted felon.

Bivins was charged with: – Possession of handgun by convicted felon.

Both individuals were taken into custody and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
