Traffic Stop Leads to Methamphetamine Arrests

August 17th, 2024-Christian County, KY: Deputies from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on S. Main St. with a rear license plate not properly illuminated.

The driver, 46-year-old Lawrence Mann, and passenger, 41-year-old Jonathan Bivins, were detained during the stop. Consent to search the vehicle was given by Bivins. The vehicle was registered to Bivins’ girlfriend. The search revealed a small crystal-like substance between the driver seat and center console, which field tested positive for Methamphetamine. Further search yielded additional Methamphetamine in the engine bay.

Mann was charged with: – Rear license not illuminated – Instructional permit violations – Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or greater offense (<2g Methamphetamine)

Bivins was charged with: – Trafficking in controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or greater offense (<2g Methamphetamine)

Both Mann and Bivins were arrested and transported to the Christian County Jail without incident.
