Drug-Related Arrests Made After Deputies Investigate Reckless Driving

Sunday, August 4th, 2024, Christian County, KY-Christian County Deputies responded to a reckless driving complaint on Antioch Church Rd and Greenville Rd. and arrested two suspects from the vehicle after a traffic stop.

33-year-old Joshua L. Crawford and his passenger, 39-year-old Jason Birdsong were stopped by units on Greenville Road around 2:30 pm. It was discovered the vehicle’s registration was expired, and the driver, Mr. Crawford, couldn’t provide proof of insurance. During the stop, Mr. Crawford appeared nervous and claimed he was driving erratically due to recently waking up. A search of the vehicle, consented to by Mr. Crawford, revealed a blue pill with the letter “M” on the driver’s side floorboard. Mr. Crawford denied knowledge of the pill, stating the vehicle didn’t belong to him. A search of the passenger, Birdsong, yielded two syringes and a $2 bill with an unknown white powdery substance. Mr. Birdsong claimed the syringes were found on the passenger side and attempted to conceal them. He couldn’t identify the substance. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident.

Birdsong was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence. 

Both suspects were transported to the Christian County Jail.
