Gun, Drugs Found on Probation and Parole Visit

Monday, February 12th, 2024-Christian County, KY: Officers from Probation and Parole requested assistance from CCSO to conduct a home visit after learning there may be guns in the residence.

Kevin Okum

A CCSO citation states that at around 3:30 pm, units went to a home in the 10000 block of Tobacco Rd. to check for the possible guns. When deputies arrived, Probation officers had 30-year-old Kevin Okum detained. Okum signed a consent to search of the residence, and Probation Officers and Deputies began the search. Found in the home were items of drug paraphernalia, a firearm, 7 containers of Tannerite, and marijuana, all of which violates Okum’s conditions of release.  Okum was charged with Possession of a Handgun by a Felon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.

In an unrelated case, Okum was also served with a warrant taken out by Dep. Stallons charging him with Theft by Deception Including Cold Checks and Deceptive Business Practices stemming from an earlier investigation by Stallons.
According to Stallons, Okum allegedly portrayed himself as a reputable mechanic and took a vehicle from a victim along with $510.00 and committed to fixing an oil leak. When the vehicle was returned to the victim, it was allegedly in worse shape than before. The victim took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who examined the car and stated that not only was the oil leak not fixed, but the power steering pump was now dead. Several attempts by the victim to contact Okum for a refund were unsuccessful.

Okum was transported to the Christian County Jail.
