Traffic Stop Nets Two Arrests for Illegal Drug Possession, Trafficking

December 13, 2023, Hopkinsville, KY: Deputies seize illegal narcotics stemming from a traffic stop on High Street Wednesday around noon. Two People were arrested. 

According to a citation from K9 Deputy Josh Stallons, 38-year-old Deven Harris of Hopkinsville, was observed operating a vehicle on High Street and failed to use a turn signal. Deputy Stallons also observed 62-year-old Anthony Foti in the passenger seat, who Stallons knew had warrants. Stallons initiated a traffic stop and approached the vehicle. Both Harris and Foti were detained at that time after Stallons noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Harris admitted that there was marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded   a Blues Clues bag that contains various items of marijuana and a digital scale. A further search led deputies to a bag containing three rocks of suspected crack cocaine. Neither of the occupants of the vehicle claimed ownership of the suspected cocaine.

Evans was charged with the following:

  • Failure to Use Turn Signal
  • No Insurance
  • Trafficking in Marijuana
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Cocaine)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia)
  • Driving on a Suspended License

 

Foti was charged with the following:

  • Failure to Appear Warrants
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Cocaine)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence

 

 

 

Both suspects were transported to the Christian County Jail.
