October 3rd, 2023, Hopkinsville, KY: Deputies responded to a residence Monday night (10/02) and discovered methamphetamine in a room shared with two small children. A Cadiz woman was arrested.
According to an arrest citation, Deputy Andy Spann was called to a home in the 1000 block of Pyle Lane. When deputies arrived, they made contact with 35-year-old Angel Harris, who was manifestly under the influence of some type of illegal narcotic. Harris had slurred speech and her pupils were “extraordinarily dilated”. While deputies were in a room that Harris shared with her two nieces, they observed a plastic baggie on an air mattress located near the children’s toys, which when examined, contained meth residue. They also found a cut straw with meth residue in the same room. The room is shared between her and a 1- and 3-year-old. Deputy Spann says the narcotics would be easily accessible to the children based on its location and if ingested could cause serious physical injury or even death.
Harris was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree x 2 counts
Harris was transported to the Christian County Jail.
