ACU Search Warrant Nets Drugs, Weapons and Arrest

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) served a search warrant yesterday (05/09) after an investigation involving a Hopkinsville man. 

27-year-old Gregory Arnold was arrested on Tuesday after Detectives searched his home located in the 500 block of Country Club Rd. in Hopkinsville, KY. The ACU had been conducting a month long investigation into Arnold’s practices and had enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the residence. Detectives found illegal contraband to include, suspected Oxycodone pills in a plastic baggie, 24 grams of marijuana, a plastic baggie containing suspected MDMA ( a synthetic drug), three handguns, multiple items of drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of US currency. One of the weapons seized had the serial number removed. Arnold was arrested from the residence without incident and taken to the Christian County Jail. It was discovered through the investigation that Arnold had previously been convicted of two felonies, making him ineligible to possess a firearm. 

Arnold was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Opiates) + Enhancement
  • Trafficking in Marijuana 1st Offense +Enhancement
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Drug Unspecified) + Enhancement 
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of a Defaced Firearm
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
