Investigators Seize Fentanyl Pills in Oak Grove Search Warrant, Make Arrest

Christian County Sheriff's Office Drug ArrestA six-month investigation conducted by the CCSO Anti-Crime Unit, and the Criminal Investigations Division from Fort Campbell (CID) resulted in the arrest of an Oak Grove man and the seizure of Fentanyl pills Thursday afternoon (01/26).

The joint investigation began around July of 2022. Investigators with both agencies, with assistance from the Oak Grove Police Department, served a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Ruf Drive in Oak Grove Kentucky at around 8:00 pm Thursday night. During the search, 22 fentanyl pills were located in the bedroom of the house along with marijuana and a set of digital scales found elsewhere in the home. 24-year-old Jordan Choate was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Offense (Carfentanil or Fentanyl Dirivatives)
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Choate admitted to investigators on the scene that the items were his and he was transported to the Christian County Jail.

Also arrested at the scene was 22-year-old Jordan Jackson of Clarksville TN. Jackson was arrested on the strength of a Montgomery County warrant for Aggravated Kidnapping and charged with Fugitive from Another State by CCSO Deputies. The warrant has a $75,000.00 bond.

According to the 2019 KY Overdose Fatality Report, fentanyl was involved in 759 cases, approximately 58% of all overdose deaths for the year. Acetylfentanyl was involved in 419 cases, approximately 32% of all overdose deaths for the year. These numbers have increased as fentanyl becomes more available throughout the country. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies remain dedicated to removing these dangerous drugs from the streets of Christian County.
