After Hours Building Check Leads to Meth Arrest

Christian County Sheriff's Office Meth Arrest Hopkinsville KentuckyDeputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Oak Grove man after an afterhours building check while on patrol Saturday morning just after midnight, (01/07).

According to a CCSO arrest citation, Deputy Jonathan Sholar was patrolling the area of Concord Baptist Church when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the church parking lot. When he pulled in to check the situation, the vehicle drove off. Deputy Sholar followed the vehicle and stopped the driver for a traffic infraction in the parking lot of Dyno Mart on Greenville Rd. When Deputy Sholar approached the vehicle he noticed the driver, 30-year-old Troy Dee Latham, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, and had a large sum of money in his lap. During the traffic stop, K9 Rico was called to the scene and indicated on the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and located black case in the passenger seat that contained a white powder, and a syringe in the center console containing methamphetamine. 

Latham was charged with the following:

  • Careless Driving
  • License to be in Possession
  • No Registration Receipt
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • No Seatbelt

Latham was transported to the Christian County Jail.
