Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hopkinsville man and a Georgia man Saturday afternoon for numerous charges including possession of illegal drugs.
According to a CCSO arrest citation, Deputy Josh Stallons observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Vaughns Grove Little River Rd at around 4:00 am. Once the vehicle was stopped, Deputy Stallons detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car. The driver, 28-year-old Eguan Warner, was asked to step out of the vehicle and was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle deputies located marijuana and numerous Glock magazines along with restricted ammunition. Warner was taken out of the vehicle and researched. At that time Warner attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended quickly. Once inside the jail, it was discovered that Warner was hiding marijuana in his groin area and suspected methamphetamine in his shoe.
Warner was charged with Speeding, Possession of Marijuana, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Promoting Contraband, and Fleeing or Evading Police.
Later that same day, Deputy Jonathan Sholar stopped a vehicle on Cadiz Rd for speeding at around 4:00 pm. Citation indicates the driver, 28-year-old Cornelius Searcy of Reynolds Georgia, was traveling 99 mph in a 55mph zone. Once stopped, Deputy Sholar states that he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking earlier. A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and ecstasy pills. Deputies also found two firearms in the vehicle, including a Taurus handgun and a loaded rifle.
Searcy was arrested and charged with Speeding, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance and No Insurance.
Both Searcy and Warner were transported to the Christian County Jail.
