
According the arrest citation, Sheriff Tyler DeArmond was in the area of Dawson Springs Rd. attempting to locate a stolen vehicle. Sheriff DeArmond located a vehicle matching the description and was attempting to make contact with the driver when the vehicle sped off. The vehicle led deputies on a pursuit that reached speeds of almost 100 mph.
Sheriff DeArmond was able to force the vehicle to stop and the driver, 43-year-old Stephanie Lynn Newell, was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle, Deputies located multiple baggies of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and prescription pills.
Newell was charged with:
- -Speeding
- -Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree
- -Improper Passing
- -Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
- -Trafficking Meth
- -Prescription not in Proper Container
- -Possession of a Controlled Substance
Newell was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
