Traffic Stop Yields Meth, Opiates

christian county sheriff's office kentuckyCCSO Deputies stopped a car on Madisonville Rd. Thursday night and arrested a Hopkinsville man for Trafficking in illegal narcotics.

On July 14th at approximately 6:00 pm, Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Madisonville Road. Deputies spotted what appeared to be illegal paraphernalia inside the vehicle in plain view. K9 Zico and his handler, Deputy Sam Suiter, were called to the scene to inspect the vehicle. Zico alerted on the passenger side of the vehicle and the passenger, 35-year-old Stacey Dillard of Hopkinsville, was detained for further investigation. Inside the vehicle, deputies discovered two cellophane bags that contained suspected marijuana and approximately 10 white pills, later identified as Oxycodone. Dillard then admitted he had an ounce of methamphetamine on his person. He was charged with Trafficking Meth 1st Degree and Trafficking Opiates 1st Degree and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
