Deputies and detectives with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office recovered two stolen vehicles in two separate investigations on Thursday, June 23rd.
According to arrest documents, deputies received a tip that a vehicle stolen last week from Lafayette, KY was possibly at a location off Shiloh Church Rd. in Christian County. The stolen vehicle, a 1997 Ford F150 pick up, was located by officers in the 7200 block Thursday afternoon. The suspect in this case, 24-year-old William Cody Petrin, was located by Deputy Eric Pacheco a short time later after being spotted on a motorcycle traveling on Princeton Rd. Petrin was stopped and detained at that time and interviewed by Detective Justin Meacham. Petrin admitted to the theft and was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking Under $10,000 and traffic charges.
In an unrelated case, deputies were dispatched to an address on Crofton-Dawson Rd around 7:00 pm on Thursday to observe for a stolen 2013 Chevy Tahoe that was taken out of Todd County within the past few days. According to a CCSO arrest citation, Sgt. Scott Noisworthy was in the area of north Christian and spotted what appeared to be the stolen vehicle on Old Palestine Rd. Sgt. Noisworthy states that as he attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver began to flee. Noisworthy was able to run the tag on the vehicle, which was confirmed stolen by dispatch. The vehicle initially attempted to get away, but was eventually pulled over on Crofton-Dawson Rd. without further incident. The driver, 23-year-old Eddie R. Juckett, was arrested and charged with Fleeing and Evading, Receiving Stolen Property and No Drivers License.
