Hopkinsville Man Arrested for Trafficking, Handgun Charges

Deputies arrested a Hopkinsville man Wednesday afternoon at a residence on Quisenberry Lane.

According to an arrest citation, Deputy Jack Rowlands was conducting a welfare check at a residence in the county. While at the residence, deputies say 37-year-old Robert Lee Bacon pulled up in a vehicle with improper registration. Rowlands states that a CCSO K9 alerted on the car, leading deputies to search the vehicle. The search yielded suspected marijuana packaged for sale, methamphetamine, and a loaded handgun. A records check revealed that Bacon was also a convicted felon. Bacon was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Display of Illegal/ Altered Tag
  • Failure to Register Transfer of a Motor Vehicle
  • Trafficking in Marijuana
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
  • No Insurance

Bacon was transported to the Christian County Jail.
