Investigators with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime Unit (ACU) arrested 7 suspects early Monday morning for drug-related charges.
ACU Detectives say a two-month-long investigation led to a search warrant being served at a residence in the 4000 block of Greenville Rd. at around 7:00 am. Authorities made several arrests and shut down a working meth lab. Three handguns were recovered, one of which stolen out of Michigan, along with items of drug paraphernalia, scales, marijuana, an undisclosed amount of cash, and approximately half a pound of methamphetamine.
41-year-old David Phillips of Christian County was arrested and charged with the following:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth)
- Manufacturing Methamphetamine
- 3 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
- Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm)
6 other Christian County residents were arrested, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth), including 76-year-old Thelma Mollicone, 51-year-old Kitty Shadrick, 45-year-old Curry Hopper, 40-year-old Shanika Cooper (also charged with possession of Marijuana), 68-year-old Matthew Jones, and 34-year-old Jamie Bailey.
All suspects were transported to the Christian County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Greater Hardin County Drug Task Force for assisting with the meth lab clean-up.
