Christian County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a pursuit on Tuesday that led to an officer-involved shooting and the arrest of two suspects.
Deputies were attempting to locate a suspect, Jordan Goodman, who was wanted for multiple felony charges that stemmed from an incident on June 15th where Goodman ran over a female who was on a lawnmower, in her yard. The female suffered serious injuries, however; Goodman fled the scene when he found out law enforcement had been contacted, leaving the female lying in her yard. At approximately 2:30 pm. Deputies spotted a vehicle that was being driven by the suspect in the 9000 block of Miller’s Mill Rd and attempted to make a traffic stop. The suspect began to flee and almost struck the deputy on multiple occasions during the pursuit. The vehicle finally came to a stop in a field off Wayne Hunt Rd.
Once the vehicle stopped, Deputies surrounded the vehicle to try and take the offenders into custody. The suspect then began to flee again, nearly hitting deputies in the process, forcing one of the deputies to fire his service weapon into the vehicle’s radiator to disable it. Both subjects were then taken into custody. There were no injuries during the incident.
Deputies arrested the driver, 35-year-old Jordan Goodman, and the passenger, 40-year-old Victoria Becerril. Goodman was wanted on a Christian County warrant for multiple felony offenses and a Trigg County warrant for Failure to Appear.
Goodman was arrested for the warrants and the following:
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
- Fleeing or Evading 1st Degree
- Speeding
- Resisting Arrest
- Reckless Driving
- Operating on a Suspended or Revoked License
- Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
Becerril was arrested and charged with the following:
- Resisting Arrest
- Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension 2nd Degree
Sheriff Tyler DeArmond requested the Kentucky State Police to conduct the investigation, which is standard practice for deputy-involved shootings.
