CCSO Deputies arrested a Hopkinsville man after a local church was burglarized Thursday afternoon.
According to an arrest citation, 33-year-old Shawn Gilkey of Hopkinsville was seen coming out of Living Hope Baptist Church on Eagle Way ByPass after it was reported the building was being burglarized. Deputies responded and observed Gilkey exiting out of a side door of the church. Deputy Andy Spann arrested Gilkey and officers recovered 3 computer tablets that were allegedly stolen from the church. According to Spann, Gilkey also gave officers a false name and birth date.
Gilkey was transported to the Christian County Jail and charged with the following:
- Burglary 2nd Degree
- Giving Officer False Identifying Information
